Luminara Gastroentrology

Procedure Fees for
Privately Insured Patients

Medical practitioner Fees

Both the endoscopist and anaesthetist have agreed to a no gap billing arrangement for all the private health funds. You will not incur any out of pocket expenses and will not receive any bills for their fees.

Pathology Fees

The pathology service that we use is Clinipath. They have an agreement with most funds and for these funds you will not receive a bill and not be out of pocket. There are some funds that they do not have a contract with, and for these funds you will receive the bill, but this simply has to be sent to the fund and you will be reimbursed the entire amount, and thus will not be out of pocket

Hospital Fees

You will not incur any out of pocket expenses for the hospital fees and will not receive any bills. Your only out of pocket expense should be the excess on the insurance policy that you agreed with your fund and this needs to be paid to the hospital on the day of your procedure. You are strongly advised to contact your fund prior to booking any procedures to ensure you know exactly what your insurance policy will cover you for and what your agreed excess is. One common mistake is that you have not been in the fund long enough or that you only have Extra’s cover which will not cover you for procedure related fees
