Often an endoscopic procedure is the first step in helping to manage your patient and if you refer directly for an open access procedure, they will be seen quickly and can get the reassurance they need sooner. If they do not have private health insurance and require an endoscopic procedure then you can refer them directly to the public hospital waiting list.
